HellBoy

I really like Microgaming software, one of the main reasons being their huge list of slots. One of my personal favourites on that list is definitely HellBoy!

I’m a comic book nutcase, I used to devour them by the dozens, and I loved them: the  darker the better..

Hellboy certainly fits the category “darker”

Surely, we are talking slots, and not comics, but i can recommend the comics any time over the movie

Since nowadays my interests tend more towards slots, instead of comics, I would also recommend the Hellboy slot over the comic, of course you could autoplay the Hellboy slot while reading the comic, and that could be a whole new experience!

Jokes aside (if you could classify it as joke) there is a reason why, there always is. I’m talking about the reason of my recommendation and that is called: SUPERMODE!!! Of course you will have encountered Supermode before if you have ever played Tombraider Secret of the Sword.

Supermode is one of the two awesome features in this game, and by far my favourite!  (hitting around 2K on  a 2,- Euro bet might have to do a little something with that).

I”ll explain in short:

We have  a 20-line, 5-reel slot, with 2 bonusgames: the Underworld Bonus and the aforementioned Supermode. The Underworld Bonus, which is triggered by hitting three or more Hellboy-Fist Scatters, is an animated picking game where you get to pick 1 door from 5 offered, and as such reveal your prize(s).

It can be  a “blocked” symbol, which ends the bonus, it can be  a “monster” symbol, which awards a prize, and continues to the next level, and last but not least it can be  a “team-member” symbol, which awards all prizes for that level and proceeds to the next level! You can work your way through four levels, to enter the Chamber of Fire, and there claim your extra reward, in the form of a Relic.

The Supermode Bonus, is randomly awarded, and is actually ten free spins, which are intensified by three sticky, random wilds. And all wins are doubled during Supermode!

It’s possible to trigger them both in one spin, then it will start with the Underworld Bonus, and then proceed with Supermode, that happened to me on one of the first times i played it, and after both features i could cash out with a juicy win:)

Yes i’ll admit, I’m totally biased when it comes to Hellboy!

The paytable is as follows:

• Tens pay up to 80 x linebet,
• Jacks pay up to 90 x linebet,
• Queens pay up to 100 x linebet,
• Kings pay up to 125 x linebet,
• Aces pay up to 150 x linebet,
• Trevor Bruttenholm pays up to 500 x linebet,
• Johann Kraus pays up to 750 x linebet,
• Abe Sapien pays up to 1000 x linebet,
• Liz Sherman pays up to 2000 x linebet,
• Hellboy pays up to 5000 x linebet.

Then the Hellboy-Fist scatter for bonusgames and up to 500 x total bet, and saved the best for last: the Hellboy-Wild for up to 10.000 x linebet!

All these hits are doubled in Supermode, and also in normal spins, when a wild connects them. The top pay can only be achieved in Supermode, and would be multiple 5 wild hits for a whopping 100.000 x line bet.
