Tombraider - Secret of the Sword, is the online slot sequel to the popular Tombraider slot which was released by Microgaming back in 2004. Unlike the original Tombraider slot, Secret of the Sword has been enhanced to the extent that instead of 15 lines, Secret of the Sword is a 5 reel, 30 payline slot. Which also incorporates a random bonus round, which is completely random and does not need a specific win to be triggered.

The random bonus round is called Super Mode and is very similar to the random bonus feature of the same name in the HellBoy Slot. When you are awarded the Supermode feature, you are in turn given 5 free spins. During these free spins, multiple wild positions are randomly awarded and held for the duration of Super Mode.

Super Mode cannot however be triggered inside of free spins and also Super Mode and free spins cannot be triggered simulataneously.

 

Another neat feature that Secret of the Sword has is the global adventure bonus. This is activated when a passport lands on the center position of a reel. Activated reels are held and accumulated until the bonus game is triggered, to activate the Global Adventure Bonus all five reels need to have passports on them.

In summary, Microgaming have tried to enhance and improve on the original Tombraider slot. Certainly the graphics are crisper and the sound effects are more realistic and compelling, but even with the added features, for me anyhow, Secret of the Sword just does not stand up next to the original Tombraider slot. That said, it is still worth trying out regardless.
